These shots date back a few weeks, during our insane January. Colgate University was the first stop in our week-long upstate New York/Philadelphia tour. The university, a small campus with great facilities and some lovely old buildings (as well as some less than lovely new ones: the grey stone music department apparently was designed to look like a grand piano…) rests on a hill overlooking Hamilton, a tiny, unpretentious college town.
The Phot, post-concert, with The Sierra (Roberto that is), composer of the colorful settings of the Sephardic Songs that we performed. He made the trip from Ithaca NY for the concert.
Post concert dinner at the Colgate Inn, Hamilton NY. (Mark Volker, a professor at Colgate and all-round awesome guy, is 2nd from the left. We went back to his place after dinner to watch Battlestar Gallactica, a small obsession of several 8bb members)
The Phot; The Alb; The Duv; The Kap; Mark Volker (standing); the amazing composer Carlos Sanchez-Guttierez (whose rich, complex, colorful….adjective-defeating Luciernagas we’ve been touring this season; crouching); Carlos’ lovely wife; The Shelt; The Mac. As usual, The camera-shy Aussie is taking the pic.
