Please consider making a contribution to eighth blackbird. eighth blackbird Performing Arts Association is a publicly supported, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization devoted to creating high quality new musical experiences that are unique, entertaining and relevant to all audiences.
All contributions, whether large or small, help us continue to bring you innovative, world-class performances and recordings. Also, all contributions are fully tax deductible and are gratefully acknowledged in writing. Please ask your employer about matching contributions.
Official Mission Statement
The organization’s purpose is to educate the general public about contemporary classical music through the performances and other related activities of eighth blackbird, a chamber music ensemble committed to the performance of contemporary classical music.
These activities include the public performance of recitals of contemporary classical music throughout the United States and abroad; the performance of specific educational programs consisting of contemporary music and other media; the offering of lectures, lecture demonstrations, and masterclasses; and the sponsorship of the creation of new works by composers, particularly the sponsorship of new works by American composers, for public performance.
Enrichment Fund
The enrichment fund provides support for building the organization and special projects.
Commissioning Fund
Donations to the commissioning fund will be pooled and used to round out, or outright commission, pieces that we'd like to ask composers to write for us.
